Is this a scam?
 
My daughter is looking for something to make money at home, and after posting on ODesk.com, she recieved this. Sounds very suspicious to me, the the classic scam of, you collect money send us part, keep your share but the orginal is bogus, so you are liable for a big bit of money anyone have any insight?


"Our Company is looking for a trustworthy, honest, sincere, capable, transparency and responsible Delivery Agent/Payment Representative in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that would be receiving payments from our customers in your good country UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This job takes only 2--10 hours per week. You’ll have a lot of free time for school and your for your present job if any while you work for us (Part-time), you’ll also secure good income in the process.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Your duties as our Customer Service Rep /Payment Representative is to collect payments from our numerous customers within your region, process the payments, with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism. You will also be offering alternative solutions where appropriate with the objective of retaining customer's business. You will handle business transactions in connection with activation of new customer accounts on a computer terminal.

Note that you do not have to go out as you will work as an independent contractor Right From your home / office. Your job is absolutely legal. You can earn up To $3000.00 USD-$4000.00 USD monthly depending on time you will spend for this job. You do not need any capital to start. You can do the Work easily without leaving or affecting your present Job. The employees who make efforts and work hard have a strong possibility to become managers.

I would be Leary of any work
at home jobs you can take classes in transcribing medical documents I think that is one I would go for.

Why would any company have their employees accept payments for them??? That is just crazy and is indeed a scam.

Scam. Why would they keep saying in your country USA? Probably someone pays by check, and you have to put it in your bank, and send them the money fast before the bank finds out the check isn't any good. Hope your daughter finds something else. Good Luck to her.

Have her check with the Secretary of State office in her state....they will know if it is legit.

even the language used sounds like the writer didn't learn English in the USA. They indicate that they are not in the USA by the term "your good country".

You probably (I cant know for sure) get the check, cash it, send them their share, then you learn the check is no good. Guess who is out the money.

Or the person sending the check is ok, but they do not receive the goods they are paying for and guess who they come after. You got their money and are the only person they report about the fraud.

It's definitely not something I would sign up for, as it sounds like a scam to me. Here's a website with ideas for making money from home:

I'd say the call centers sound like the most reliable.

NOTE............No name of business or contact address or telephone (Red Flag). That is so you can not report to your state's Attorney General's office. (This is the department that will verify and/or will check on a business's authenticity.
