Whew...I had just come inside to cool off after spending a long time weeding part of the yd....sat down at my computer, and suddenly, my chair began vibrating alot...just like those motel beds with the Magic Fingers" for 25 cents...I know, I know, I am really giving away my age to remember that...anyway, above my head, the antique Tiffany hanging lamp started to sway back and forth so much I had to stand up and hold it so it wouldn't hit the window...after it was over, I checked to make sure nothing hadn't blown up like the water heater or anything in our house, I checked outside to be sure no accident happened, then I heard the train whistle from a few blocks away and thought maybe there had been an accident there, but I later learned there was an earthquake in Va. I am in So. Jersey...if it was that bad here, I can't even imagine what it was like there...I hope all of our Bd. members, their families, and everyone there is okay...keeping my fingers crossed that there wasn't alot of damage done...Naomi

Felt it here in NY, near the PA/Ny border at 2pm. Wrenches hanging from the peg board were just a swinging back and forth.

some here in KY said they felt it...with 3 grands (3 yr old twins and a 2 yr old) here during the day...it seems like it's always rocking and rolling...they can make the earth move under your feet and the walls come tumbling down...LOL

Believe me, we felt it in VA. I had just gotten to bed and dozed off after spending 24 hours at the hospital with my Mother. We had a smaller one 8 years ago. This one just seemed to keep going on. No damage that I can see. Glad everyone is okay.
