If your granddaughter is not too busy, maybe she can help you find a dress. The brides usually like to have input on what their moms and grandmoms wear to their wedding.

I've gone with her but she wants to put me in a dress that is either too revealing or too tight for comfort. She has said that whatever I get will be fine as long as it's in her colors.

If you have a dress that you like, why don't you take that to a seamstress and her to make it up in fabric in your granddaughters colours. Remember a simple classic style dress can be made to look more dressy, by the addition of shoes, hat and purse.

Many department stores, Nordstrom is one, have a person in the store who knows the stock and will help you find an outfit in your style and price range. My daughter, and her wife, have used this service several times each and love it.

You might look in the vintage pattern section. Many of the dresses are most modest and can be updated if you wish by using modern fabrics or trims. I love looking at the section.

Find a pattern you like and a good seamstress will be able to make minor adjustments to your liking.

Not sure the time of day or the type of dress (short;formal; etc) you are aiming for, but one option that may give you more flexibility is a skirt/jacket combo with a camisole underneath.
