Resale shops overflowing
I loved going and looking for "treasures", but noticed in the last several visits, my three favs are bulging with "stuff" and the prices are higher....even I passed on a few things.......

Well, I have bought things at second hand stores that I probably could have gotten new at Walmart but the article at the second hand store was so much better quality and will probably look better for longer than the new article from Walmart.

We're so lucky to have so many resale shops here - from Goodwill, St Vincent de Paul, the hospice resale shop, Savers - as well as so many used clothing stores. They are cheaper obviously than going to a regular store, but the prices are going up. It used to be I could get jeans for $4 or $5, and now the better brands can be $10 to $20. My husband collects books and it's the same for the books considered more collectible.

Goodwill here is very expensive. Salvation Army has cheap prices so the inventory will move. Goodwill has the same old stuff week after week. I like Savers, I found a new Oliso iron in box for $25. Employee said she thought that was too much for an iron, the other irons weren't that much, and was going to ask if the price could be lowered. I said no, I'm fine paying $25.

I like the local Junior League Resale Shop. They have lots to choose from, lots of brand names, hardly worn. I got a name brand top today for $4. Nicer than Walmart. Although for some things I do go to Walmart.
