Red face Rescue Project - Cute as a Button!

I bought a lady's sewing room (for material) at an online auction last year. Lo and Behold - UFO's are a common thing amongst us sewists! This was one of the multiple unfinished projects I found tucked away between all the other 3 car loads of 'stuff' I purchased. She had completed 10 of the 14 body rounds and tucked them away with the pattern and some stuffing in a nice, neat package. It takes 70 to complete the doll. While cruising through my stash last week I ran across it again and decided to raid my stash for additional fabric and finish it. Thought I would be through the next day. NOT! It took me almost 4 days cutting fabric, cutting batting, sewing, appliquing the face, and putting it together and then putting on the hair. I have 4 and 6 year old granddaughters coming this month for a week's visit - I will let them 'name' her. Think I will stick to quilt blocks for a while, lol. Although - it was fun seeing it come together and knowing it will not be just thrown away is satisfying.

I had one of those as a child & it was dear to me but don't have any idea where it moved to! Your GK are so lucky!

That is so cute. I have had that pattern for a couple of years and just haven't tackle it yet. Was it hard putting it together?

That is such a cute doll. Would love to have a pattern for it to make and add to my dollie collection. Don't have one like her. Is the pattern something you could copy and send to me? PM me if you wish. Thank you in advance, Kitsy

Sewfine - it was not difficult, just time consuming. Had I started it from scratch I think it would have been faster. The pattern calls for 7 co-ordinating fabrics and to layer the fabrics and cut all layers at the same time. Unfortunately, I wound up cutting them one by one from scrap fabrics.

My Mum made my brother one of the Yoyo clown dolls back in 1969. I had forgotten about it.

Your is beautiful and I am sure your granddaughters will love it.

If the pattern is still available I would love to make one for each of my brother's 3 children.
