Non quilting, but this morning I was cleaning out the cubbie hole we store our food in. Or kitchen is very small and the cubbord we use to store food is tucked into the corner. So its a narrow opening but wide and deep so stuff gets lost...

So this moning while I was trying to organize it-again so I can SEE what I have. I got the idea to make a shelf but I'm trying to be furgal as well. So I started thinking....

Ended up at Home Depo and an encounter with helpful sales person I ended up with a .55 1X8 pine from a clearance bin. Well the hubby is still at work but I found the jig saw in the garage so I figured I give it a try. If I messed up I was only out .55 LOL. That worked so I found a hammer and some nails left over from fininshing the basement. AND......

Here it is my .55 shelf! and I DID IT MYSELF :D :D NO men required(sorry men)

LOL I was so proud of saving so much money and then doing it by myself. Such a little project but a lot of satisfaction.

Bravo for you!!!!! I often do things like that around the house. My DH is far from being a handy man.
