Default It swam right up to our door and said: "Take me. I'm yours!"

actually our Native American next door name (5 ft 1 if she is an inch) came to the door, with this 25 pound already gutted fish, in one of those big pull tie trash bags. It was a locally caught King Salmon. She'd gotten two and wanted us to have one of them. At $9 to $13 a pound fresh, that was a precious gift for sure. Hubby may smoke it. He just finished up fillet stuff on it. It stretched head to tail and filled half the counter on the left of the kitchen cabinet. WOW.

I don't fish, and can't imagine pulling a 25 pounder out of the ocean. YIKES

My folks used to go salmon fishing 40 years ago. We ate so much fish growing up I hardly eat it now. But there is nothing better than bar-b-qued fresh salmon. Enjoy how ever you fix it.
