A friend of mine was recently telling me how she cured her toenail fungus, with hydrogen peroxide. I noticed this thread and out of curiosity, Googled it. Found this - http://www.michaelandjudystouffer.co...nailfungus.htm

I use the Vicks Vapor rub all fall and winter then my toes are ready for sandals. I give the nails a rest form polish every couple of weeks and then use the Vicks. I have a fungus rash on my chest that comes back a couple of times a year. May try the vinegar and mouthwash -

This is almost like a method I use. Athletes foot is a fungus, vinegar is an acid.... Could not sit still to soak my foot, so I used vinegar soaked cotton pads on my foot wrapped with saran wrap or used a baggie. Taped it in place and slept with it on at least 3 nights in a row. If I woke up with it burning then I removed it. If it itched the next morning, DO NOT SCRATCH (ask how I know) just soak in ice water for a minute or so and dry thoroughly. Any flare ups, just repeat the treatment. It has worked for me for years. I have often wondered if it would work on toenail fungus, now I know.

Well, I hate to admit it, but put me on the Fungi list (which sounds way cooler said out loud than written). Night before last, my big toe was hurting to beat the band. I couldn't walk on it, and it woke me up several times. I took my polish off, and there is a big yellow "stain" on my toenail. I don't get it, either, because I wear open toe shoes all the time! Seriously, haven't had socks on in months! At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, that it wasn't a fungus, but I covered the nail with a band-aid and went to work yesterday. Luckily, the pain has subsided. It was bad. My whole toe was radiating heat and it was red and "angry-looking". I put some Neosporin on it (because I was at work, and that's all we had) and checked on it a few hours later, and it looked like a fungus. It's little, but it's there. When I got home, I cut the nail down as low as I could and soaked a rag in vinegar and taped it to my toe. When I went to bed, I put vicks in there as much as I could and rubbed it in the nail. It does look better today. I have another vinegar-soaked rag on it this morning (it's my sewing pedal foot too!!!). I have a pool party later today but I'm skipping the swimming I'm trying to keep this tootsie as dry as I can when it's not being heavily medicated! I'm hoping to catch it while it's still young and kill it dead dead dead. The vinegar stung when I first put it on there last night, but not so much today. Yay!! I'll have to get a big emory board and some listerine when I go out.
I always thought "Fungus Among Us" would be a good name for a punk band!

During WW2 in the south pacific the airmen were told to pee on their feet to keep from getting "jungle rot"
I assume they meant fungus. Sounds wierd but it worked.

Ok, I'm going to tell you something gross, but it works.
The anti-fungal medicines (not the pills, I don't think) that you're applying have uric acid in them that comes from female horse pee. When I was a manicurist, I would tell everyone who had some sort of foot-fungus to pee while they were in the shower. Don't think about it, just do it.

Well, it's been a full week of treatment!!!!
I'm happy to report that it looks like I've removed it!! I cut my nail down as far as I could with nippers. Looks like 1/2 of my toenail is missing (I guess it is!) so I really have to watch it to make sure that I don't get an ingrown nail now! I've been putting the vinegar/listerine mix on it all the time, and I put Vicks on it at night. I had to put polish on it for work, so I didnt know if it was working or not! I took the polish off tonight and.....
drumroll please....
You can't tell it was ever there!! I can see a little "yuck" at the edge-because I'm looking for it! But it's a pink and whitish "yuck" instead of the yellow/brown yuck I had before!!!! I'm going to keep treating it until it's grown out, but I'm so relieved that this is working!
