Just spent some quality time in my hammock, watching the hummingbirds zip in and out from my feeder. The little buggers are so fascinating. Two of them actually collided in mid air, bounced back, cheeped frantically at each other for a moment, then continued the quest for the feederl

They are such fun to watch! We have one that keeps chasing the other hummingbirds away from the feeder. He will watch the feeder and then go after any hummingbird who dares to go to "his" feeder!

Our hummers just left Ohio about a week ago. I was filling the feeder every day or two all summer, until about a week ago. Now there is only a little bird juice gone each day, I assume by the migrant birds. Tell all my Ohio hummers I said "Hi" when they get to your place in the south!

Ours are about ready to fly south. I will miss the little buggers.

My Hummer made a nest right outside my LR window and we had two babies. Such fun to watch.

We still have lots of them in the UP of Michigan. We have visitors who are absolutely fascinated by their antics-they'd never seen one before so close. I'll miss them, too, when they take off.
