Default Need help from friends!!!

Hi all I just joined tonight so I could get some ideas from you all. I want to make a Grandmother's Flower Garden by hand. I have made several using the English paper piecing method. I love it. My current issue is this. I have some 5 1/2" blocks that have been machine embroidered with Betty Boop designs. My hexies are 1 1/2 inches on each of the 6 sides. How can I incorporate these larger blocks within the design. I am attaching the last one I made. I have literal hundreds of hexies already basted so I would like to use them. needs pressing but you get the idea.

any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda,
I just want to say welcome to the board and your pictured quilt is beautiful. I'm sure someone will be able to give you some ideas.

I am at my most imaginative today, but you could applique your hexie flowers onto a white or coloured background square and then square up your BB embroideries (adding sashing if necessary to make them the same size as the hexie flower blocks) and go from there. You would need to carefully cut away the fabric behind the hexies to reduce bulk (but leave a bit for a seam allowance. Your GFG quilt is beautiful, so I think applique will be easy for you. The squares would be out of your "hexie habit" but It could look quite effective. Hope this makes sense....the Perth heat is getting to me.

I think Earthwaker's idea would be worth a try. Maybe make a sample to get the numbers right. Welcome from Louisiana
