    Ah I would love to be able to do this, but I just cannot do that much hand sewing. It would take me forever to finish a quilt using this method as I can only do a little at a time. And I'm afraid it would not look very good as my hand sewing goes from bad to worse the longer I do it. LOL

    I don't see why you can't zig zag the back??? Especially if it'll be a kind of utility quilt - love and used and washed!
