Lovely quilt - too bad nobody wanted it! It is well-done and some grandmother put a lot of love and time into that quilt. You are lucky to have it.!

The quilt is lovely but I don't think that it is quite as old as the early 1900's. That shade of green was popular in the 1930's but the ginghams and the fuschia, black, white print in one of the squares says 1960's to me. Often scraps and even yardage was saved for many years before a quilt was made. A quilt appraiser could date this for you more accurately and give you an idea of its value. It's really pretty and a wonderful gift.

I have no idea if the quilt is as old as the former owner thinks, but, please don't tell her it might not be as old as she believes. There would be no point to it. It is a gift that should be treasured, no matter what. Beautiful quilt. I would think anyone would be honored to have it.

I have a quilt that has the same flower on a yellow background. Mine is old too but not quite as good of shape as yours. What a nice thing for her to give it to you!

I totally agree not saying anything about the age. I agree with the new age. I didn't think about the green in it. It does scream 30's to me too.

The age really doesn't matter to me. It is the gift of a family treasure to me who isn't a real family member to her.

Thanks ladies
