Do you have a picture or link to a pattern? I'd love to see what you are thinking of making.

Try using light weight inter facing to turn the applique.

Yes, you should be able to rotary cut the wedges and maybe make or have a template made for the rounded part.

Instead of using the interfacing on each blade, you could go ahead and sew them together then sew the interfacing to the entire block to turn the outside edges under.

I just watched the tutorial on missouri quilt co for the orange peel quilt. I'm going to make that but it has a super helpful youtube video on how to use interfacing for curves. I'm going to buy her template and use it for the orange peel, but I'm sure you could adapt it to your dresden template.

Use washable glue to turn the circle edge under. Then stitch down by hand or machine.

Use a heat resistant plastic, cut out your Dresden plate template. Use a needle and thread to gather the top over the template and starch and press. Once you get going it will go fast. The enjoyment is in the process and it isn't a race to the end. Unless you are like me and think of a project a week before you need it! I hope you enjoy this. I love Dresden plates.

I just watched this tutorial on msqc as well. That's a great quilt. Might consider doing that one. The concept is good. I've tried the interfacing method before. It must have been too lightweight because it tore a lot while turning. I think I'll try a few different methods on scraps today before giving up on my Dresden Fan design.

Have you tried Snipping Tool. My son told me about it and I use it a lot. That's the only way I can post pics on here.
