I started garment sewing 37 years ago and have been quilting for about 9 years now. And I STILL can't sew a straight line! :((((

Am I defective or what?

I'm not perfect either. As soon as I find a fault in myself, I'll let everyone know what it is.

I'll bet it has something to do with the machine you're using. I thought I couldn't sew a straight seam either, turned out to be the machine. I went from an old Montgomery Wards machine to a Pfaff 2030 and the difference was amazing.

To answer your question - NO you most certainly are not! I have been sewing since I was 12 and not a straight seam will ever be found around here.

A better machine helped me some but still...

A 1/4" foot just annoyed me as I zipped crookedly away :-)

I have a 4 year old Viking Platinum 775. It's not the machine...it's ME! :(
