I have a Janome 6600 with a Janome ruler foot, just like Amy Johnson's setup. It works fairly well on smallish projects, with smaller templates, as there just isn't as much room to move a larger ruler or template around on a DSM. It's a nice option when you're not travelling with your longarm and still want to do some quilting including templates. Takes a bit of practice to get comfortable and adept and moving the quilt sandwich along with the ruler, but it's doable!

Thank you --- I will research this further !!
