I double bat most of my quilts. Sometimes its a layer of Warm and Natural with a thin layer of poly. Occasionally its two layers of cotton batting. I love the definition its gives to the quilting. The extra warmth is nice for cold winters. I have a double batted quilt in my bed now , a cotton with thin layer of poly.

I don't like heavy quilts and I wouldn't even try quilting thru two layers with my DSM. Why not upgrade to a better wool batting?? I have read previous thread on Hobbs wool and I am certain that Dream cotton batting makes a wool batting too.

I did the craftsy class with Cindy Needham and she makes a "gourmet batting", mixing cotton and wool. She carefully pulls the wool apart and uses 1/2 thickness. She said the wool accentuates the quilting.

I have long arm quilted quilts using double batting. The customer requested both Warn N Natural and a poly batt used together in her quilt. It turned out heavy but she loved them.

I'm trying this... I have a Halloween quilt on the rack right now, set up with a layer of cotton batting (Pellon) and a high loft poly (can't remember the brand). Have you tried yours yet Wanda Lou? I haven't started quilting yet, just got it loaded yesterday.
