My church is offering a free quilting class that started last weekend. I went, of course, since I'm new and trying to learn as much as I can. The pattern was pre-selected and is called Aunt Vinna's Favorite. I like it, but the sample she showed us is black and white, scrappy. I don't want to do scrappy or black and white and have a hard time "picturing" the finished product in my mind. I went to quilter's cache and they have an example but they did it very differently than the sample we have as a go-by. Just wondering if anyone here has ever done one and would you mind posting a picture if you did? Any suggestions/tips/hints? I'm doing it for my parents for Christmas in blues. Thanks in advance!

Found a block with a different spelling of the name. See if this is the one they are making.

I love the one on the Quilterscache on page 2 by Beryl. I had picked that one out for when I get better at quilting. Already printed it out and have it in my "To Do" notebook.

Yes, that's the same block, although done in a totally different way. the one she showed us has all light colors put together so that it looks like it has sashing, but it's actually part of the block. It was in a book she had and I copied the spelling the way it was in that book. I looked, because she kept referring to it as "Aunt Vinny's favorite." But it is the same block. Thanks for the help. I don't know that I would have picked it but I'm really excited about the class and glad to be doing it.

Do you happen to know the name of the book it came out of?
