I use Tartan's idea and I keep my bobbins with the spools they match using nuts and bolts.

I tried doing this but couldn't get the hose to cut straight. It was very hard to cut. I tried an exacto knife, scissors and probably something else I can't remember but finally gave up as the hose wouldn't cut. I got it at Lowe's. I too am interested in how you get it to cut straight.

I use the bobbin keepers. They keep my thread and bobbin together without any hassle.

I guess I am not too fussy because I just hold it down with my left hand and cut through almost to the bottom with a serrated knife. I finish the last bottom cut and the slit with a pair of old scissors. Maybe it depends on how thick your plastic hose is?

Great idea. I think I saw this on a quilting show a while back, but I can't remember the name of the quilt teacher who gave that tip. That's a great idea though because the thread on those little devils keep trying to run away from me.

i found some of those things you put around your toe when putting polish on them..at the family dollar ....they are INDIVIDUAL TOE SEPARATORS 12 IN A PACK ...work great as well ..then i put them on each spool of thread with a golf tee it keeps all the bobbins neat and with their spool of thread
