Great story! I read someplace that it was not a good idea to display much of anything when selling a house. And then I saw on television recently, not to display anything! The argument was that you don't want buyers to fall in love with your possessions. But I think it's great that the seller in this story was able to demonstrate how the space works so well for hanging quilts (or any kind of art)! Congratulations on your new home; I hope it really is a dream come true for you!

I was thinking the same thing - realtors always go for de-personalizing a home. How wonderful you got to see her work, envision how you could use the home and you got to buy stuff to display quilts!
I agree with both of these comments...How on earth we got to the de-personalizing a home for viewing is beyond me. Other than they get these so called home designers to come in and re-do homes, bringing in other items if they don't like yours plus you pay a nice fee for this service. After moving and purchasing a multitude of homes I have found for the most part these design consultants make most homes look so sterile and and unwelcoming. I want to see a home someone has lived in and loved regardless of their particular style of furnishing and could care less if something was accidently left in an improper place. It's just another way for some to make money off of the homeseller as far as I'm concerned.

Congratulations on purchasing the home of your dreams!
