Can I use corduroy for sashing and borders?

i agree with amma, that the lighter weight cottons are at a disadvantage here. if the quilt gets tugged on, the stitching between the heavier and lighter weight fabrics could pop. i think amma had a good idea: fuse or otherwise interface the lighter weights to bring them closer in heft. if you haven't cut the plaids yet, this would be the best time to fuse the cottons. if you have, i think it's still important.
make sure you wash and dry your corduroy several times before you use it
and remember that the corduroy, if it's 100% cotton, will scrunch up in washing and drying.
