I bought mine at Harbor Freight. My "table" is really an island in my kitchen and I need a clamp that is big to fit on it. They are some sort of a spring clamp. I have two sizes, and the larger of them works best for me.

Just in case they might work for you, let me see if I can find a site....http://www.harborfreight.com/1-34-in...amp-69291.html

That is very close to what I use. Works fine for me. I have 8 of them.

I used to use binder clips but since I have been glue basting I don't need to hold anything down. I put the quilt bat down first and that pretty much stays in place. I squiggle the thin stream of glue on the batting and then smooth the back down over that with my hands and let it dry. I do it in sections. When the back is dry I flip it over, squiggle some thin streams of glue on the batting and smooth the top over that. No stretching from using the clips too tight and no wrinkles in my backing or top.

My table is too thick for binder clips. I found picnic table clips at REI - they work great. http://www.rei.com/product/670630/co...s-package-of-6

    Cheers, K

I have always used Binder clips available at any office supply store or Walmart. They are the larger size, the black portion being about 2" wide. I have used my clips for over 25 years.
