My Panasonic cordless will be one year old next month (my birthday request last year) and I love using it. I got it at Walmart which seemed to have the best price.

i've had a panasonic cordless for years... still work great and the sole plate still in good condition. the only think i don't like about it... if you have to iron yardage, you have to wait for it to reheat up... so i keep a corded one for that.

I fought my iron cord too, even with a cord minder. I found a plug that screwed in a lamp or overhead light that the light bulb screwed into. I have a light over my ironing table so screwed it in there. It's great to keep the cord out of my way. I think the plug was about $2 but it's been years ago.

Oh, I can still have a bulb in the socket, the plug is on the side.

Can't wait to hear your verdict. I looked and it has both corded and cordless options, plus no auto off!! That sounds perfect. Just want to know you like it before I bother.

My friend has a Panasonic cordless iron and she loves it. I am sorry I don't know what model it is. Check for sales.

I got this iron for Christmas and am very happy with it. I have not used the steam part of it yet, and I may not, so I can't speak to that part of the iron. I am just happier with a spray bottle of water, I guess. I didn't use the steam part of my last iron either. I have not had a cordless before and didn't want to invest a large amount of money, even as a Christmas present. (This was a Christmas hint for my husband....) Mine came from Amazon, and, in fact, one of the reviews there is from me....a good review!

I bought the smartek iron through amazon, and spent the weekend using it. I LOVE it. I do have get used to always returning it to its stand so it stays hot, but perhaps the habit of returning my tools to the same spot every time could spread to all my tools? I can only hope!
