I have always used them and only have problems with the orange and sometimes yellow ones. It all depends on the fabric, of course it is something ya may wanna quilt right away. I think that is what my problem was with those 2 colors, I marked an entire top only to have to stash it for a prompt move and forgot about it for quite some time! Most of the yellow has come out over the years but the orange is still there. But, I still use them, cheap alternative and normally no problems.

I scrub the lines with SHOUT (the deoderant stick kind) and have never had a problem. I've used purple, both the broad tip and regular point. The first time I got nervous, got up in the middle of the night to wash it without the binding. Yes, it came out.

THanks a million for this idea... I never thought of using washable markers! wow... I think my marking problems have just been solved. I will make sure to test on my fabs first, and to prewash everything!
THanks again!

i used some felt tipped ones on a yellow border and also one area with the washable crayola. it took about six washings with various stuff to get those marks out. green was what i used and that seems to be the worst.
irritating thing was i did a test on some yellow scraps and those came out fine....
