Cut fabric too short- Need advice please
#1
I am working on a large block quilt, cutting out fabrics. This morning I cut 4 pieces of fabric 1 inch too short. One piece is black and one piece is gold. Do I sew the back together since the quilting will hide the stitches or go buy two more half yards and start over? At $10 a yard, It seems like a waste of money to start over, but I want it to look nice too. Ugg!

unless you have some use for more fabric I would piece it. On the other hand if the pieceing would bother you more than someone else, then buying the extra fabric would lessen your stress and frustration. It is possible, since you say the quilting will cover it, that no one but you would ever know.

If it's a Turning Twenty block, just piece it. No one but you will ever know. If your fabric is patterned you may not even notice the seam. As my daughter often reminds me when I stress about little quilting mistakes, "Mom no one will ever see it when they are sleeping under that quilt". Just piece it and move on.
