Okay, I have searched but can not find where someone on the board was doing a block and did not have enough material for one of the sides and she sewed pieces of frabric together and we couldn't even see the seams on it. I am doing a pattern that has 7 strips 2" wide sewed together - on this one set the middle one is pink, but my length is not long enough, I did one set (need 5 of these) and just sewed the longer pink on then when that was done just added the shorter pink piece to it and continued sewing the pink to the other color strip. The strips will be cut into 2" sets after they are sewned. But what if I do not have enough to get 10 out of each set?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sorry, don't know how else to explain it.

The way I sew fabric strips to make them longer is to lay one right side up horizontal, lay the second wrong side up vertical on horizontal strip end, leaving about 1/2" to the end. I then mark a diagonal line from corner to corner and sew on the line. Open the strips to be one long strip. Trim the seam to 1/4".
Found better explanation with pictures.

Bellaboos instructions were very good. The diagonal seam is very difficult to most of the time.
