K, so I'm going to go buy a darning foot today- I've been cheating and using the Q foot, clear plastic, does the job, but not very well.
Anyway, so my question is, would it be better to get the ordinary darning foot, or the open toe, they're both the same price.

I happened to get both for my little Viking when I bought the Quilting Kit for it. I started practicing my free-motion quilting with the open toe, but since I'm very new and still have a tendency to get long stitches and my movement isn't smooth yet the open toe kept getting caught in them. I decided to practice using the closed toe foot to minimize my frustration, even tho I like being able to see with the open toe foot. JMHE :-)
