Do you get an error message? If so, what does it say?

Hi Calla...where are you trying to load the design from your SE or your computer...email me..maybe we can figure out
You can't take a design from the SE and load into stick...you can load a design from your stick or computer into your SE...Are you trying to save a design you have on your computer to the stick to then load into your SE?
If you have a design on your SE screen you want to save...you can keep it in a file on your SE...Do you have the booklet that comes with the machine?...

Are you sure the USB sick is not full? What's it's capacity? I know the ones we got with our machines in when they first arrived on the scene were 16 mb's. I know this is a "duhh" question! I put everything I can on my computer and then download it to floppies or discs.. I have readers for both that I can plug into my SE in the USB ports that I got from Office Depot.

Drue, could you tell me more about the 'reader' you got from Office Depot. My computer is in another room and your set up sounds more convenient. It that a Kerry Blue in your avatar?

Hi all and thanks for the comments.........well:
I had a design on my hard drive and I opened 4 D, I did a "copy" and than went to quick links and disk/stick screen opened. I selected the stick area; pasted to the menu..........the stick selection for "write" appreared.....and was lighted...............than an error message "insert a stick".........or something orther..........I changed my USB port on my tower tried again to no avail. I moved the "lock" thingie on my stick tried again, moved the stick back to the USB port and tried once more. I finally tried to use my "sent to" function and the design appears to be loaded. I haven't yet tried it in my machine to see if it really is there........I had functions yesterday...........and my Bernina is setting on my sewing table as I finished binding on my fall quilt for 2011............with my Designer 1 using the disk manager I have to "clear" the disk and than paste and finally write. I perfer using the disk manager becuase I can load multipule designs before "writting" them...........but again thanks for all the help.........calla/Sue

Hi Emmy....Maggie is a Mini Schnauzer and spoiled to the hilt! Can you tell by the pic...she thinks she's something on a stick!

Go to your local Office Depot or , I guess, Office Max and tell them you need a 3 1/2 floppy reader or/and a cd reader that will plug into your computer with a USB port plug. They are not expensive and in my opinion well worth the money to have back ups if nothing else. When I download from my computer to a floppy I just plug into the usb on the computer and cut and paste to the floppy... you can then plug your floppy reader into your machine in the usb port/hub and then pull it up on your embroidery design options. Really very simple to do.....
