I take out the patterns I like and put them in page protectors. I pass on the rest to others who are glad to get them. I also have bought used mags for a quarter and was happy for the joy of reading them and perhaps cutting out a pattern or two before passing. If I had room, I would keep them all, just like books to read again.

I would be excited to buy old quilt magazines, even with missing patterns. I agree, put a sticker on the front stating that some pages are missing. I like just looking through them, seeing techniques, getting ideas. It's like looking at quilts on Pinterest - some links only lead to photos, but the initial pin was still worth looking at.

I have a quilty DDL and a friend who's taken up quilting. I mark the mags and pages I want to keep by putting a colorful sticky tab on them and give the rest evenly to the other quilters.

Our library has a table in the foyer that people can put magazines for others to take for free. I have taken magazines that have pages out of them and I do not get upset. They're free and if I figure there may be something good in them, and if not I am not out anything. But I can always find something interesting, even in the missing pages magazines. A lot of quilters can't afford magazines and there are a lot of good things left in them.

I'd let your guild members or friends have them for free. If something is missing....no big deal. I'm sure the recipient will get great pleasure out of the magazines.

If I only pay 25 cents for a magazine I do not expect to be intact. If it is thats great but not expected.

I have a copier/printer combo. I just copy and print anything I like, then pass the magazines on to the others in my quilting group.

I take mine to the local quilting guild and they let others go through them.

My time

If the magazines are intact donate them. If you have removed pages recycle them. I work in a thrift store and store and people don't buy magazines with missing pages. We end up throwing out your garbage for you,
