Do you have trouble deciding which way to press seams?
I started this quilt two years ago but it ended up in my UFO box. Quilts for a new granddaughter took precedence. When I laid out the 10 blocks I had finished, I realized the seams would not lock together because the block could not be turned sideways like most of the quilt blocks I make. However, I consider myself lucky to find out the problem before making all 64 blocks. I am now making 5 blocks each of 12 different fabrics. My solution is to make 2 blocks of each fabric pressing the seams one way and the other 2 blocks the other way. Then after lay the quilt out I can finish up the remaining blocks and press the seams depending on the placement. Sure hope this works because I love the quilt pattern. It's called Road to Dixie and I'm using my favorite Kansas Troubles fabrics. I just wish the designers of the pattern would give you a clue on the pressing directions. Have any of you had this problem?

Beautiful job and lovely pattern...I think you have it all figured out. I sometimes have the repress seams to lock, wheni do this I usual snip the seam and allow the major part of the seam stay as originally press. I maybe be incorrect, but it really does work for my needs. I will look forward to seeing your completed quilt

Great blocks! I usually let the seams tell me which way they want to go. On your blocks, I would press the seams on the large triangles outward, that way you can easily sew the 1/4 inch seam without cutting off the points.

Yes, there are some things that a sit a study about when it comes to the pressing part. I mostly press to the dark, sometimes that does not work out. It is confusing, and yes, it would be lovely if they told you which way to go.

i don't worry a lot about which way to press... usually to the dark. sometimes, when needed, i just refold the end that's not matching well.
i don't know if you noticed, but the beige squares in the green at the bottom left are facing the wrong way.
