Fortunately not. Quilting is so deep with me it would be hard if my family would not like the quilts. some of my extended family might not like me too much but they still like my quilts. Hehehehe

I have yet to come across anyone who does not enjoy and appreciate the work involved in the makings of a quilt. I recently gifted a favorite cousin with a tapestry lap quilt for her 70th birthday. She's called me several times since to tell me how she's placed it in her home so it's one of the first things you'd spot upon entering! .....makes me feel so good :)

I have that as well. Just make quilts for those that do enjoy them. :)

I have a cousin that says he just can't understand why a person would buy a good piece of material just to cut it up and sew it back together. He just don't get it and his wife makes beautiful quilts that are appreciated by everyone but him.

We have a saying in my quilting group "not quilt worthy." It just means that they wouldn't appreciate it.

There's only 2 people I have gifted quilts too, my mom & a girlfriend. My mom's is a memory quilt she hung on the wall.

But I learned years ago - don't assume they'll like it. My SIL was going to sell for $1 a very large embroidered piece I had made for my brother when he was single. My girlfriend rescued it & has it hanging in her home. She told SIL she'd pay her $100 for it. SIL didn't realize GF was serious.

I feel very lucky that the people around me love my quilts and ask for them. I am very excited that my sons girlfriend wants to make a quilt and a bean bag! They are only in high school and this is wishful thinking but I want him to keep her around forever!!!

she sounds like a keeper -if it does work out between them, you'll probably have a lifelong quilting buddy!!
