Default Dovo Scissors?

I am on a quest for a new pair of scissors and I don't like brand Gingher. I've recently read that Dovo's from Germany are the way to go. Anyone know the brand and can recommend them? I want to use them to cut material--circles, smaller appliqué pieces, etc.

I don't know about Dovo. A *lot* of people really like Kai scissors, though. Here is their website:

My hubby bought me a dovo scissor for my birthday last year, I had heard they were very pointed and sharp so would be good for trupunto or applique...got them and yes, they are great, but they are 50.00 and my purple handle scissor from connecting threads is just as sharp and pointed... under 4.00!! still my favorite..

Love those little purple scissors from CT.....I have them everywhere and even give them away as a little something extra with 'quilty' gifts.

I have one pair of small Dovo scissors. I bought them at a quilt show some years ago. I keep them in my handsewing basket. They are good quality and very sharp. I bought them for the look not so much for being better. I like pretty sewing notions that will last for years.

I have several pairs of Dovo scissors and love all of them. The thin blades are great for trimming applique. They have a nice balance that does not tire the hand when cutting a lot. Blue blade scissors do not need sharpening. They are beautiful. Once you use the you do not want to use other brands.
