Thanks you for sharing you wonderful story. This is 6:00 evening stuff. Both my parents are gone, but every stitch I take or undo I feel my mother's presence. My dad used to tell stories about mom's sewing. He was sure that everybody should have threads or ravels on their clothes.

{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} Thankyou so much for sharing this wonderful, precious memory with us. Your parents sound very much like mine. My dad passed almost 8 years ago....died 14 days after going to hospital..at age 90. My mom is still living, but failing rapidly this past 6 months or so. She is 91. My sister is the main caregiver as my brothers and I live too far away. I am so glad for you that you and your sister have such memories to share with each other.

Very beautiful story. As my Mom is declining, she loves to do little things with me, like straightening out 5" charm squares when I take them out of the dryer...seems like not much at all, but she loves to help me in that little way and it is a small act that I will always cherish.

What a loving story. Good for you for seeing her need and filling it. You are blessed.

Hugs, and thanks for the Kleenex warning. Mom is getting there and Dad is already gone. Unfortunately, I don't have a special memory like that.
