I had heard on previous posts that Michael's carried them but didn't realize that Hobby Lobby does. JAF carries the plastic hexes in with the quilting supplies. Check to see if they sell the punches online.

I don't think you have to worry about the punches being discontinued. In scrapbooking, certain basic shapes are always popular. What changes is the handle or the way you press. I think lots of companies make hexagons.

If I like it, it will be discontinued. LOL. I guess I have every size hex punch made now including all the Go hex dies. I have the Creative Memories hexagon punch. It punches 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" hexies. If you ever see one at a yard sale get it. Having different size hex punches makes me happy. That's either really sad or really nice.
