Another silly question, but here 'goes...........Did you turn the steam off? That's the only time I've ever had it not stick properly.

I have waxed paper also, but that does not stick to fabric. I can stick waxed paper to itself with a hot iron (useful when I need a large sheet of tracing paper), but not to fabric.
Who knew? My box of freezer paper is at least 30 to40 years old. That is how long ago we stopped doing the meat at home. It is Mosinee coated paper and was made in Columbus, Wisconsin.

I doubt that wax-coated freezer paper would work. For quilting, as far as I know it is always the Reynolds freezer paper that is being referenced for use in applique, paper piecing, etc. type work.
