WHY do I ever assume that I can just sit down & "whip up" a project? I finally (won't tell how long it took me ) cut out a 2 1/2 strip with a row of little dogs marching down the center. Many, many other (fabric) dogs were harmed while cutting that strip! Just couldn't get a whole row of dogs in the center.

Glad you got a good cut. Fussy cutting can be a challenge. I have to use the see thru rulers when I cut to be sure everything is lined up just how I want it before I cut... otherwise I get a real mess!

I hear you. I have the same issues when "whipping up" something that seems simple. Poor little cut-up puppies!

Makes you wish those things were printed on the straight of the grain. Congratulations on conquering the dog line!

Possibly the result of the fast-paced, instant gratification society in which we all live.

Thankfully, quilting is one of those pursuits that forces thought, deliberation, concentration, patience, precision and care--qualities that seemed to have gone missing from our busy, over-scheduled lives. Fortunately, quilters understand and appreciate the balance this hobby provides in contrast to that.

Your singing my song sister! The last two quilts I finished gave me every problem imaginable to work through. (And not just with fabric and thread! I am talking heavy use of my people skills!) I am hoping it was just a bump in the road. LOL...

Oh how I know the feeling on this one! All I can say is now I know how the animals felt is Cinderella. BTW, anyone know where I can hire those little critters?

I hear you! I bought a quilt kit and wanted to get it done -- it's been 3 weeks since I brought it home and I've only been able to work on it 3 times. Good thing is that it is pieced, layered and half way quilted now. Just wish the days that I was able to work on it could have been in a row rather than a week or so apart! Still have another 4 to 5 hours of quilting then I can put on the binding!

In the seemingly never ending story of the marching dogs and the "easy" project I realize that I have run into another snag. I arranged (and of course sewed) the strips together and saw (too late) that this arrangement would put 3 unfortunate dogs in too small points in the very center of the mat resulting in dog pieces. I am making this table mat for my sister's table at an animal rescue fund raiser!
