Looks great to me ,but they usually don't have a lining, it is part of the block. But there is no law saying you can't line them.

I think it looks great, as far as the scissors I have a small Fiskar's that springs back open and they worked great for my son's rag quilt, the blades are short so it is easy just to clip what you should.

I can't imagine what you thought might be wrong with it, and I especially like the way you've worked in some four-patch blocks. The only thing you could possibly do wrong is wash it in your home washing machine, and that would be a lot worse for the machine and plumbing than for the quilt! I took a large one to the local laundromat and asked the attendant if there would be any problem with it, and he said to go ahead. They have special filters on the plumbing, and the oversized machines are very sturdy.

I think it is just great. When I make my rag quilts, I sew a stitch 1/2" from the outside edge, and clip the edge also. I also make my cuts in the "ruffle" area about 1/4" apart. You can wash a rag quilt with a large terry towel to make it ruffle more. The quilt is absolutely fantastic. You did a good job.

This is one that I made recently. Just trying to show you how I do the edge.

Clipping and washing hides a multitude of sins.
