A Keybank research report stated that Wal-Mart would return fabric to their stores. To check the progress of this (and to let our fellow quilters know which Wal-Marts carry the fabric :) let’s keep a running list of the Wal-Mart stores that:

    1. Are adding Full Service fabric back to the store.
    2. Do not have any fabric
    3. Still has full-service fabric
    4. Carries pre-cut fabrics only
    5. Are seeing full-service fabric department expand.

Let’s try to post as follows:

Location of Store: 1. Are adding Full Service fabric back to the store.

Honolulu (Keeaumoku store). Full service but notice a decrease in fabric prints along one wall with more options of pellon, warm and natural instead.

Actually, there's already a listing here on the board that's like 31 pages long with this info. If you search using the search feature above, you should be able to find it.

Thanks - However I believe we should start a new thread because of the other lists are older. Wal Mart’s announced at their annual investors meeting last week that they want to bring thier core customer back. As such some on Wall Street see fabric returning to Wal-mart stores. And since this is a change, a new list might work better. Agree?

    3. Porter, TX store still has full-service fabric, and #4 still carries pre-cut fabrics.

Ours is moving across the street so I'm hoping they will still have the fabrics. I was in the old store the other day and they have a lot of bare shelves and I wanted to get a roll of batting and deco bond and such and there was none to be had and all the fabric except for a few of the precut stuff and a few fat quarters and notions and machines left. So I'm guessing they have moved every thing else across the street already. There was very little pickings at the entire store, but I did buy a new cut& press board that i neede real bad but saving the old one for cleaning the iron. I also got and set of templates for cutting circles. I can't wait to see what the new Walmart will have. It opens on the 27th of this month. Will let you know what they have when I go up there. Huggies, Fay

    Central, PA. Wal-Mart Super Store.
    #4 pre-cuts only.

Our Wal-Mart just did a remodel. They took out the fabric dept. All we have now are pre-cuts.
