We have speakers do trunk shows at our quilt guild meetings a couple of times a year. One lady in our guild is an award winning FMQer on her Bernina. She shows the evolution of her quilting skill, from beginning to current. It was really neat to see all her quilts. Then we had a lady talk about learning to use color, and she brought old and new quilts she had done to illustrate her talk. About 15-20 quilts each, describing technique and color/pattern selections. It's really fun and very inspiring.

My guild has trunk shows several times a year and I've been very blessed to see some amazing stuff!

We have a small quilt club meeting once a month and most members bring something they are working on or have completed for "show & tell". It's not a trunk show from one individual but we get the same effect. It's always fun to see everyone's projects. I have a friend that has given a trunk show at a nursing home. She said it was fun to get the people there involved in "do you remember seeing this pattern". There is also someting similar called a Bed Turning. I saw this done at a show once. The quilts were all layed out on a bed and a history was given on each one as they were turned down and shown.

The area I live in, we have a number of great quilters that have done trunk shows for us. Claudia Clark Meyers, Mary Mulari, Joann Larsen Line (The Quiltmakers Gift, she had since passed away), Susan Cleveland, Marilyn Foreman, and Sandi Irish. Each one had something different to offer and we enjoyed their shows.

With each show we all were inspired to try something new so they were a lot of fun.
