I have used Heat n Bond for the fabric holder - when using a quilt as a wall hanging...works great and no sewing. Has anyone ever used it on the binding??? I am thinking of trying it not for the machine sew part but the 2nd part when you fold it over to the back side. Thoughts/comments?

If you are handsewing the binding, I would try it on a practice piece first, it may be harder to sew through.

I was thinking heat bond instead of handsewing. I used it on my wall quilt to hold up my quilt on the rod (no sewing). It works great...so I was thinking it should also hold up on the binding...its washable.

Ahhh I see :D It may work great on a wall hanging... but don't think I would trust in on a quilt that gets much washing. I have had it release.

For binding, they sell some that is 1/4" wide on a roll :D:D:D

Use dots of elmers glue to hold it and then iron it works great for wallhangings

Yah...i saw some at Walmart...this may be good for a table runner, pot holders and tree skirt. I agree with you that with quilts since they are washed often it may not be a good idea.

There is also a permanent white fabric glue that you could use, put an applicator tip on it :wink:

Oh...clever....just need to make sure it never gets washed. With the heat n bond its washable.

Is it washable? Do you have the brand name?

I "baste" my bindings that way, but when I wash the quilt, it washes out.
