I have used club soda on carpet when red wine has been an issue. I keep a bottle in the pantry for just that problem.

My heart dropped when I read your post. I'm so glad you got it out. Now you have lots of remedies if it ever happens again.

Wow, what a terrible mishap! Glad you were able to get the stain out!

And now I'll know what to do if anything like this happens to me. I'm glad I read this thread, I learned a lot...liquid oxyclean & you can get embroidery thread bleed out? I wonder if I try oxyclean on a place on my quilt where a red fabric bled onto a white background if that would work? I guess oxyclean doesn't care if a fabric is colored or white like bleach?

Sorry to hear about accident with the red wine. So glad you were able to find something to get the stain out. My solution to all is to drink water when sewing, that way, you won't have a stain problem if it spills. Sorry, I just had to throw this in, I don't drink, and I'm not trying to be prudish about anyone who does, nor do I condemn those who do so please don't attack me, my strongest drink is tea.

Ha,ha....while cheese would have gone nice with the wine. I think after the drama was done ,I had chocolate.
Dark chocolate to go with the red wine!

Yes, white wine will take out the stain of red wine. Do it right away though
