Personally, I think something NON-RELIGIOUS would be more appropaiate, something that would reflect you, not his religion. Maybe a bargello? Or a favorite quilt block of yours, set on point with borders? Just a thought - - -

Id say stick with a simple geometric pattern in soothing colors.

I like the bargello idea, too. Also a tile quilt. I just want something to reflect my appreciation.

You might do a block that looks like an ekg. Maybe embroidery an ekg complex. That would be cool. If you could get a copy of one of your own ekg's and copy it onto a block.

I work in a cardiology practice. We had a pt that I made a card for, I used a copy of one of his own ekg's and die cut Christmas ornaments for the front of the card. It turned out really neat.
