I want to buy a quilting software program.

What has been your experience with which program and which one would you recommend and why?

Thanks for the help. I want to have the program which is the most popular as well as the easiest to use.

I use Electric Quilt, EQ, and I love it!
You can draw a block/quilt, add in photos, applique, borders w/without blocks. So many different applications within the program.
I can print out templates, foundations, rotary cutting guides and fabric requirements.
The only thing it does not do, is give you instructions on how to construct the blocks/quilts you design. :D:D:D

I just found out that Ouilt in a day/Paducah has Electric Quilt 7 on sale for $132.97 plus shipping.

Shipping to CA (here) would be $9.34 FEDEX ground, so let's here it about EQ 7!

This sale goes till FEB 11.

I use EQ as well. Currently have EQ6, because upgrading to EQ7 is not in the budget at this time.

If I had EQ I never would get off the computer! I have been up since 4:30 a.m. and here it is 11:00 and I am still on the computer. Must get off and do something. Right or wrong, I must do something! LOL

I love my EQ. I'm using EQ6, but I understand 7 includes some nice upgrades.

I use EQ5, as my budget would only accomodate that cost at the time. Since EQ7 is out, hopefully EQ6 will cost less.

I have EQ7 (been using it since EQ3). It's the best as far as using it as a beginner to going all the way to advanced designer. I like Foundation Factory for paper piecing programs and Quilt Pro works with Foundation Factory, EQ will not. I haven't updated Quilt Pro because I just use it with Foundation Factory and use EQ7 for everything else. I couldn't tell which program I would like the best so I tried them all. Connecting Threads now have a free design program on their website that you can choose fabric and patterns to design a quilt to your taste. Like a mini beginner version of EQ.
