I've used Quilters Dream and Hobbs Heirloom on several occasions and after washing I haven't noticed it much different than W&N unless as many stated the quilt had a lot more FMQ stitches.

Was it some type of special fabric? I bought some once that was kind of stiff - it was a fireworks design and was "sparkly." No matter how many times I washed it, it just wouldn't soften up. I had bought four yards because I liked it so much! I finally put it in a garage sale this year, and a lady bought it so she could make a tablecloth for their camping trips! It was great for that.
