How do you sort your.......

scraps------by size or color?
I did both. I cut 3 1/2", 4", 5" some 6" squares and 2" strips. The cut squares are stacked in color sequence. I've just stored the strips on their sides, no real color organization.
Then I have a drawer stuffed with odds and ends from when I did all that cutting. I was messing around with it last night, making a crumb block. Not rocket science, but I'm having a time trying to make a block out of so many smaller pieces. It's my first attempt so just experimenting right now.
An idea I thought of was to try a crumb by color and put multiple colors in a top like a color graduation type concept?? But then I'd have to "colorize" that drawer. Thinking of the time it would take and came up undecided.
Surfed around on the 'Net looking at pics that others posted of their stashes. Let me say, it's as bad as being in a fabric store-----OK, not THAT bad. I can't buy anything in someone else's picture! LOL

I hate scraps...
I get a bag full and send them away to someone that wants them.
Really though...I have been trying to cut them into strips and squares to use as beginners and enders.
That isn't working out too bad actually.
I don't sort by color. I just toss all into a basket for later...much later!

Right now they all go in a big box or in ziploc bags. When I get time, I cut them into 1 1/2 inch squares to get ready for the postage stamp quilt I plan on making. The cut ones go in a plastic Rubbermaid container until I get enough for the quilt.

I have a laundry hamper that mine go into. When it's full, I go thru it and TRY to sort it out. I'll take the smaller pieces and sort by color into ziplocks. Bigger pieces just get folded and put back in the bin.
