so what you may say .... well .....
Last night, while not in the sewing area, I tried to remember what projects and collections I had in the sewing area and put them on a spreadsheet. Extravagant - maybe - but I wanted a list in writing that I COULD SEEEEE so maybe - just maybe - it'll help me STOP accumulating more new projects and new fabric of any kind.
I don't know if it'll work - whatcha think?
Anyone else ever tried making a LIST to keep track of ALL the projects and collections they have *hidden away* in their HOUSE?
Any other suggestions for gettting things DONE!!!?????
Anyone ever BLOG about it?

I have a notebook I put all my plans in with pattern name and fabric samples. Then I use old priority boxes I have coverd with wrapping paper and label it for that project. I fill it with the pattern and fabric to be used. It looks better than bags on a shelf.

If I start a project and stop before finish (UFO), all parts of that project, fabric, blocks, backing, pattern, special tools, even scraps are placed in a see through tub and labeled then stacked on a shelf in plain sight. If I buy fabric for a project it is washed ironed neatly folded with patern on top and tied in a bundel with Cristmas ribbon then set on a shelf in my china cabnet with my stash (stash is on small bolts) where I can see it and have something to look forward to. After finishing a quilt, and cleaning the mess I always make, I look at my UFO boxes to see if I am ready to get back to one of them. I do keep a written list of projects I must have done by a date posted next to my sewing machine and adjust it as needed.I also have a SOME DAY I WILL MAKE list that I keep adding to.

Yes, I have a list that I go by all the time. Acually I have a couple of them that I use. What I am now doing is to finish two of my quilt tops before I start a new project. I also devote most of my time on one UFO until it is completed. I now have finished four tops and still have not started a new project.

My system (if you want to call it that) is put "project in progress" in clear tote with all patterns and materials... this way everything stays together....
Then when I want to work on something, I just grab a box. One project per box.
