Singer featherweight?
#1
I am a newbie on this board and to quilting in general and am confused by all the excitement about this sewing machine. I have been reading many posts about people being excited to find one of these like it is the holy grail and I am wondering what is so great about these machines :?:

They are simple straight forward machines that have a unique feel, and form a great stitch! and nice to look at too! My comparison is some people love classic cars.....these are classic machines that sew great!

Some of the hype may just be nostalgia. A Featherweight was the first machine I learned to sew on and it's the machine that my girls learned on too and it will be the machine my granddaughter will start with. It's just a perfect little sturdy machine, very basic and very user friendly.
