Default Hunters Star Template

Just watched a video by Deb Tucker on her Rapid Fire Hunters Star template. She made it look so easy. Has anyone used this template to make this quilt? Was it as easy as the video shows it to be? I sure hope so because I got caught up in it, and told my husband I could do this with that and ordered the template (on clearance at Quilt in a Day)....now he expects a quilt!! Please tell me "Yes, Linda, you can do that".

Yes, Linda, you can do that!!!!! I have seen some beautiful Hunters Star quilts made up. I think I saw one that Jenny Doan did from MSQC. Good luck and please share with us your progress when you receive your template and get started.

Yes - I've made one with the Deb Tucker tool and it got me hooked on her methods!

Keep the instructions close initially until you get the hang of it.

Make it, you won’t regret it. I made a queen size, red and cream, using her method/ruler and loved it! It’s one of my favorite quilts. I hope to make another some day.

I have access to the Accuquilt Hunter Star die to cut my fabrics - is it easy to assemble? Any tips?

The Deb Tucker/Studio 180 tools method is very easy. With a die cut method, wouldn't you have Y seams to contend with? That's one of the nice things about Deb's tools, especially for the stars (Hunter and Lemoyne) - no challenging construction AND all the seams just line up beautifully.

The one I made (posted photo above) was only the 6th quilt I'd ever made, and I even used the tools to make pillow shams to match the quilt (a present for my brother).

What a beautiful quilt, mkc. What size are those blocks? This is on my bucket list.

Thank you It was so much fun picking out fabrics with my brother (2000 miles away - we did it by text, both the fabrics and the layout). I was thrilled with how it came out and it made me a Deb Tucker fan for life.

I'll have to check - I'm thinking they were 8". The quilt was 96" x 96" finished if that helps. It was the largest I'd FMQ at the the time (I'm a proponent for Quilt Wrestling to be an Olympic Sport - probably winter games since it can cause you to overheat when you have some of it draped over your shoulder ;-)
