Default Husband (not mine) in LQS buying for his wife

I stopped by my LQS today to pick up a few items. While I was there, a gentleman stopped in to buy a gift card for his wife. He was going around to five different LQSs and getting a $50 gift card from each. How sweet is that!

    Wow, what a sweet guy.

Here if mine were to go, he would only have to stop at one. That is all we have besides the large craft stores.

My adult son always buys me a large gift card at my LQS. The first time he did he talked with the owner. Julia gave him a 10% discount for buying the card. He told me she gave him a "dude" discount. The gift card is easy for him and GREAT for me!

I ALWAYS prefer either cash or gift cards for birthday, anniversary
    and Holidays.

The way I look at it is this way I can buy what I WANT and if it is
the wrong size, color or whatever its nobody's fault but my own.

My husband has only ONCE in 11 years together gone into a craft/
hobby/sewing/fabric type of store to get me a gift card for my birthday.

Now he just hands me cash or tells me to go buy what I want and
gives me my "limit" to spend.

One year for my birthday he did go to the dealer where I bought my
sewing/embroidery machine and got me the walking foot that fit. And this
past June he went to the Spa down the street and got me a FULL service
"signature" treatment package which was a 2 hour massage, 2 hour
facial, 2 hour pedicure & Manicure. It was AWESOME. I am ready for another
    facial and massage. LOL

my hubby goes to the lqs every year and shops---the ladies take him under their caring wings and guide him around showing him the newest items to come in-and telling him the things (i should have) he also sneaks into my sewing room before going to check & see how my blade supply is- machine needles- what ever else he can think of- it is always such a treat to see what he came up with to stuff my stocking
he has never bought anything i do not use---unlike myself-
and the ladies at the shop love to see him coming
