I bought myself a Mother's Day gift.

I had been thinking about getting the Janome 6500 for my birthday in Sept. but I got to thinking maybe I didn't need such a powerful machine. I kept searching for something cheaper that had some of the bells and whistles. Anyway I think I'm going to be happy with what I just bought on Overstock.com.
I buy quite a bit from them so I joined the O club and usually get 5% back. They had a couple of days where they offered 15% back so I bought the Brother SE400. I don't plan to do big quilts anymore so I don't need the long throat area but I think I'm going to be happy with all the other features.
Just wanted to know from owners of this machine if you have any pointers for me? Thanks.

I purchased my 6500 in August last year and have not regretted it for a second. I am still learning all the
bells and whistles, but OH what a journey. I love every minute of working with this machine. The decorative stitches are so much fun, and I love the thread cutter, the knee lift for the presser foot, and the bobbin winder, just to mention a few of the features. Good Luck!!
