the instructions in today's quilting paradise article = the one about knotting thread before cutting - and how do I do that?

Also how to knot the thread once you either run out or need to change threads?

Thanks for any help you might give me.

To knot your thread with your machine, you lift the pressure foot arm up just a hair & hold onto your fabric, so it won't move, & let your needle go up & down in the same spot three or four times. This will knot your thread. Hope you can understand this. It is really easy if you see someone do it once. If you run out of thread, I just un sew a few inches so you have a tail of thread. Pull the bobbin thread up to the top of your project & tie both threads together, close to the stitch, twice. This will knot it. Then thread both threads into a needle & feed the threads to the middle where the batting is. Hope this helps.

My Janome 6260 quilters companion machine has a button you push that will knot your thread. It goes up and down in place for 3 times to knot it. Very nice.
